Hello, travelers, explorers, vacationers, lovebirds, families, retirees, and everyone in between! My name is Alan, and I'm an outgoing husband, dad, and lifelong adventurer who loves experiencing everything this big rock we call home has to offer. I'm the kind of person who would rather take a trip for my birthday than throw a party—and I'm also a bit of a hopeless romantic. My spouse and I have made it a tradition to renew our vows whenever we travel somewhere new and have the opportunity. That tradition, along with my love for travel, was born from a honeymoon that happened four years after we said, "I do." During that trip, a robot in a New York City museum unexpectedly became part of our vow renewal story. Later that evening, while gazing out at the city skyline from the top of the Bowery Hotel, I found myself reflecting on my day-to-day life and realizing just how much of the world—and life itself—I had been missing. That moment changed the way I looked at travel. Since then, I've explored destinations ranging from Tokyo, Japan, and Mexico City to New York City. I've experienced everything from sipping a cold beer with my toes in the sand to dragging myself up mountains in search of monkeys. I've traveled solo, and I've also packed up two little ones and taken them halfway around the world for two weeks. Through it all, I've learned one thing: life is too short not to take the trip.
